Elizabeth Fermanis is a writer, director and editor and a 2015 graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Masters of Film and Television course. Her graduating film ‘Hospitality’ screened at the 2016 Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and the 2017 St Kilda Film Festival. In 2016 she was also invited to take part in the MIFF Accelerator Program for emerging directors.

In 2016/17 she directed an episode of the web series ‘Fresh’ which has gone on to screen at the LA film festival, New York Web Fest, Series Mania and the Gold Coast Film Festival. Her latest short film, ‘Nature’, screened at the 2020 Sydney Women's International Film Festival and has been selected for the 2021 LA Women in Film Festival. 

 

In addition to her Masters degree, Elizabeth holds a Diploma of Professional Writing and a Bachelor of Creative Arts, during which she undertook an exchange program at the University of California, Berkeley in 2012. She has also worked on various film and television projects as an assistant director and production coordinator and has worked solo as a videographer and editor for online content.
